How Nutrition Can Help Beat Cancer

According to internationally renowned nutrition and cancer expert Dr. Patrick Quillin, Ph.D., RN, CNS, more than 40 percent of cancer patients die of malnutrition, not from the malignancy itself. Over the years, Quillin has confirmed that well nourished cancer patients can better manage the disease, especially if they are going through chemo and radiation treatments that can induce cachexia (lean tissue loss), along with nausea, vomiting, hair loss, organ toxicity, and immune suppression.

“A healthy human body is self-regulating and self-repairing,” says Quillin. “The job of everyone in the hospital and in the clinic should be to restore that patient back to their self-regulating and self repairing ability which is what nutrition does as part of the package.”

Therapeutic Nutrition

When my husband was battling cancer in 2012, we embraced a therapeutic use of nutrition one of his primary treatments. We did not use any chemo or radiation.

Our main goals with the nutrition therapy included the following:

  • To reverse his metabolism from being too acidic and low oxygen (which cancer thrives in) to more alkaline and higher oxygen (which repels cancer growth).
  • To build up his immune system (which has failed if one has cancer), so the body itself could sucessfully fight back.
  • To help detoxify his body of harmful toxins from wrong foods and replace these with clean, health-giving nutrients.

Immune Boosting

Together with the implementation of several other non toxic, painless, and immune boosting protocols, my husband’s cancer disappeared in less than ten months—contrary to hopeless predictions from conventional medics—and he has been healthy and cancer free ever since. (You can read how this was achieved in “Healed, Healthy and Whole, How We Beat Cancer with Integrative Therapies and Esssential Healing Strategies

“We have overwhelming evidence that we can lower the risk for getting cancer by 90 percent with a healthy lifestyle,” explains Quillin. “And if you [do] get cancer, you can use nutrition as part of a comprehensive program to dramatically improve your quality and quantity of life while going through cancer treatment, and better chances for a full remission.”
