The Coffee Detox

A major study done by the Royal Society of Medicine found that an unhealthy large intestine (that is, the colon) is the underlying cause for 85 percent of all human disease and illness, including cancer! The U.S. Health Service also reports that 90 percent of Americans live with dysfunctional, choked colons. That means we all may be walking around with toxic heavy metals, fungi, antibiotics, bacteria, viruses, and worms in our bowels– and not even know it!

There are many reasons for this: 1) we live in an increasingly toxic environment, 2) our food supply is impacted by all manner of pesticides, mycotoxins, growth hormones, and other unhealthy elements 3) the typical American diet is loaded with refined grains, excess sugar and sodium, as well saturated fats and oils, 4) we don’t drink enough water, 5) we’re exposed on a daily basis to heavy metals and electromagnetic fields (EMFs or “dirty electricity”) from cell phones and towers, television, radio, microwaves and other household appliances. Epidemiological studies are now showing direct links between cancer and exposure to EMFs.

There are several steps we can take to help minimize the toxicity of these influences on our health. Choosing to eat a healthier diet with more  fresh organic vegetables, fruits and nuts and cutting way back on our animal protein is one. (The USDA reports that the average cubic inch of non-organic beef contains up to 1,200 larvae, and that more than 90 percent of Americans are not aware that they suffer from parasites!) To prevent illness and recover from disease we must take greater care of the type and quality of the food we are eating.

Coffee beans on burlap sackAnother choice we can make is to restore our colon to optimal health by doing regular cleanses. I found it hard to believe when I first learned that coffee is an excellent detoxifying agent– but not when we drink it! Coffee enemas are a powerful and effective way to cleanse the blood and clear the liver of toxins, which aids in repair of the immune system. A healthy immune system will effectively fight disease.

Coffee enemas can be done regularly, beginning with once a week (gradually work up to several times) for about a year. Reversing imbalances and disease is a gradual process, however, you will begin to notice many improvements rather quickly such as reduced gut inflammation, more energy, better complexion, clear-headedness, and even weight loss. More importantly, blood cleansing, deep tissue repair and cellular regeneration will have begun.

(If you are pregnant, please do not do these and if your health is severely compromised, please seek the advice of your doctor first.)

INSTRUCTIONS

Put 2 cups of ground organic blonde coffee in medium sized pot (dark roasts are not suitable)

Fill 3/4 of the pot with boiling filtered water

Stir over high heat until it boils for 3 minutes

Then, turn down heat and simmer for 20 minutes

Add more filtered water

Using a siv, pour the coffee brew into a separate container – keep out the granules (use them in your garden compost)

Add water till you have 2 liters of concentrate

This prepares eight, 250 mls doses of your coffee enema

Put coffee in fridge; you will need to stir when you use again

INDIVIDUAL DOSES

Pour out 250 mls of coffee into a container and add warm water (test for a temperature that’s comfortable)

Pour the mixture into your enema bag and hang fairly low to the floor (the higher the bag, the faster the liquid flows)

Lay down towels and a pillow and make yourself comfortable (you can bring in books, light candles, etc.)

Lie on your right side

Lubricate the enema tip with coconut oil

Do the enema, allowing the liquid into the colon gradually, in spurts

Hold the liquid for 10-15 minutes

Release the waste into the toilet

Disinfect your enema items with soap and hydrogen peroxide
