Friends, are you or someone you know feeling helpless, besieged and utterly exhausted right now? Has the hope of this world failed you? Have you tried everything you know to do and come up empty? Here is a most moving story from author A. C. Dixon that I believe will truly encourage your heart.
“A dear friend of mine who was an avid deer hunter, told me the following story: Rising early one morning, he said, I heard the baying of my deerhounds in pursuit of their quarry.
“Looking away to a broad, open field in front of me, I saw a young fawn making its way across the meadow, looking as if its strength was nearly spent. Reaching the rails of the field, it leaped over and crouched within ten feet from where I stood.
“A moment later, two of the hounds advanced, and the fawn ran in my direction and pushed its head between my legs. I lifted the little thing to my breast, and, swinging round and round, fought off the dogs. I felt, just then, that all the dogs in the world could not, and should not capture that fawn after its weakness had appealed to my strength.
“So is it, when human helplessness appeals to Almighty God. Well do I remember when the hounds of sin were after my soul, until, at last, I ran into the arms of Almighty God.”
Friends, does this describe you today? Then, do as this fawn and run to God. Allow Him to lift you up in His powerful arms away from danger and despair. He will fight your battles, you will find relief from your enemies and rest for your weary soul. Run to Him now!
